A Place in the Sun presenter Danni Menzies received a telling-off from a potential buyer as he scolded her for showcasing homes out of his budget.
The popular Channel 4 show returned for another compelling episode on Monday afternoon (September 30). This time Danni was on hand to assist John and Carol on their search for a dream holiday home in Tenerife.
With a humble budget of £120k, John and Carol were on the lookout for a spacious two-bedroom property with gorgeous views and a swimming pool. But given the amount they had to play with, the pair were also happy to settle with a one-bedroom home.
However, things became a little sour during their search when Danni showed them two properties that were at least £20,000 over budget. Not impressed, John was quick to point it out.
He said: "That's top end of my budget and you've done it twice now." Trying to justify what she was showing the couple around another high-budget property, Danni explained that it still featured elements that they longed for.
Reluctantly going along with Danni's idea, John was clearly uninterested when he entered the modern home. Looking around the two-bedroom apartment, John was quick to label it "bland" while admitting that he felt "something was missing".
Meanwhile, fans at home had quite a lot to say about the couple's search. One viewer said: "£120k is not going to get much in Tenerife."
Another viewer cheekily penned: "Danni should refuse to take them to next one unless she gets a 13% pay rise." At the end of the show, John and Carol decided to put down an offer.
Interested in apartment number five, John said: "I just think when you get off the plane, suitcases in the apartment, you're on holiday." He then shared how much he was willing to pay.
Putting down an offer of £110,000, John had to later raise his stakes to £125,000. With conversations to be had, the agency who put the flat on the market said they were in talks. At the end of the show, it was confirmed that John and Carol's offer was accepted.
