Viewers watched on in shock - and hysterics - as took an almighty tumble on Great British Bake Off.
The presenter, 49, was in jovial mood when she played around on the set of the show during Tuesday night's episode. However, she didn't anticipate almost doing a backwards roll as she perched on the table top.
Alison attempted to do a leg spin on the counter, saying she wanted to "add some happiness to the task". However, she got more than she bargained for as she fell backwards onto the floor. Her topple left other bakers stunned as she laughed off her mishap and lay on behind the counter. "Don't come over her - leave me!" she bellowed in a fit of embarrassment.
However, host couldn't help but come and be a part of the action, lying on top of the star. "That is the best thing I've seen ever!!," he told her - and viewers at home seemingly agreed.
Many took to social media to let out their laughter. One /X user gushed: "'Alison Hammond is the best thing to happen to bake off and no one can change my mind, she's so real #GBBO #bakeoff." Another agreed, adding: "Alison Hammond is definitely the best thing to happen to Bake Off."
And a third was of similar opinion is they penned: "Alison Hammond falling off the kitchen counter, was TV gold lol #GBBO."
The episode marked the show's '70s Week and also saw Alison sprawled on the grass as she fell off a space hopper. Host Noel was once again in hysterics at her antics. Viewers watched on as one of the remaining five bakers was voted off prior to the quarter-finals ahead of the grand final, which is due to air on November 26.
The unlucky baker in question turned out to be Illiyin after what was described as a "wobbly week". Following the all-important Showstopper challenge, in which bakers were tasked with making a gateau, Georgie took the accolade ofd Star Baker. However, Illiyin's "wonky" gateau fell apart. Despite judges calling the flavours of her dessert "delicious", she received her marching orders.
Following the show, she took to X to share her own thoughts. She wrote: "Well, the time has come for me to leave the Tent. I leave with memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life and a deeper understanding of myself and what I am capable of. There are lessons in everything and truly Bake Off has been a massive one.
"It has been a lesson in patience, determination and self-belief. I will always be grateful. Before GBBO I had built a beautiful online community of like-minded individuals who I have had the privilege to support in their difficult post-natal experiences and other forms of advocacy."
She ended the lengthy message to reveal she is excited for her next chapter and said: "We'll laugh, learn and grow together. It's a great time. Until then, all the best. Illiyin."
