shared a key concern as has “no strong women around him at the moment”.
Simon, 65, and Amanda travelled to Blackpool this week to judge the first round of auditions along with and guest judge KSI. Simon however left wife Lauren and 10-year-old son Eric at home.
It led Amanda to raise concerns about the media mogul’s notoriously bad timekeeping skills. On Heart FM breakfast, Amanda’s co-host Jason ‘JK’ King asked: “It is quite legendary, is he on time more nowadays or not?”
Amanda, 53, replied: “His lovely wife Lauren and [son] Eric are not here to kick him up the jacksie so I’m going to say no. He’s got no strong women around him at the moment.”
JK pointed out Amanda is part of the Britain’s Got Talent set-up. She replied: “I’m not in his team, he’s not going to be up early, no one says no to him unless it’s Lauren.”
Simon has previously addressed his own lateness after and complained about it in their book Once Upon A Tyne. The pair wrote: "A couple of hours after we arrive at the theatre, we focus on one of the key elements of any BGT audition day: waiting for to turn up."
"Once we've got started on that, we'll often film interviews with some of that day's acts, then have a bit of food, then get back to waiting for Simon."
Simon, contributing to the book, wrote: "They used to have a real issue with me being late and it used to drive them nuts."
Meanwhile Amanda’s co-host suggested she could unleash her into Simon’s room. She responded: “Oh my gosh, he is going to die of joy, you know what a fan of dogs he is, especially rescues.”
Amanda and her family recently rescued dog Minnie from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home. Amanda, husband Chris Hughes, and their two daughters also have dog Rudie and Muffy the cat.

“We’ve done Blackpool this week and then we’re back in London in January. It will be full-on and, knowing Simon’s schedule, I won’t be in bed until midnight and then I’ll be up again in the morning.”
