Prince William has outlined his vision for a modern , but one royal expert has warned that and could pose a "glamorous threat" - and we want to hear your thoughts.

The Prince of Wales recently revealed that the Firm was shifting towards a more empathetic monarchy with a focus on helping people, which he labelled "royalty with a smaller 'r'." The candid interview came just before Gladiator II premiere, where he met a line-up of star-studded celebrities.

The monarch was noticeably alone on the red carpet due ’s chest infection, and highlighted the stark difference between the event and the Bond premiere in 2021. She told the : "The King looked inescapably alone on the red carpet in Leicester Square last night. There was no retro glamour, no tinsel, no tiaras.

"That fabulous 'No Time to Die' Bond premiere when Camilla and Kate waltzed out in a haze of designer sequins felt like a away. One small glimpse of the in Remembrance black on Sunday was a painful reminder of what we are missing."

The expert suggested that the royals could be compensating for a depleted public presence with a focus on philanthropy, which she described as "William’s happy space." Dunlop continued: "Earthshot speeches and homeless documentaries are his version of royalty with a small ‘r’."

However, the expert warned that the public will tolerate "charitable hectoring" as long as it’s accompanied by a "large dollop of fairytale glamour", which she suggests Harry and Meghan have mastered. Dunlop said: "The might think they are above such glitzy gimmicks.

"That would be a mistake. After all, waiting in the wings are ex-royals the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. Instinctively glamourous with bundles of razzmatazz, the Californian couple have an effortless knack for combining showbiz-gloss and public do-gooding.

"Already estranged from the House of Windsor, Trump returning to the White House gives them another excuse to regroup, with a new house in Portugal the perfect launch pad for a European offensive. William beware! It would never do for the royal brand to be upstaged."

Mirror readers have voiced their thoughts on the "threat" posed by the Sussexes, with one commenter writing: "Harry & Meghan have always been viewed as a threat, for years. It’s a fight for popularity and the monarch and future monarch must, at all costs, be the most popular, the jobs of the firm and the lifestyles of the royals depends on it."

While another disagreed: "Not a threat at all because they’re so unpopular." We want to know if YOU think the Sussexes are a threat to William's popularity? Vote in our poll to have your say.
