BBC Breakfast came under fire from viewers for showing a "long" news item previously covered earlier in the week.

Presenters Roger Johnson and , led today's show with an extensive piece on the 100th anniversary celebrations at The Old Marylebone Town Hall.

It was back on Tuesday, October 1, that the significant date of the venue's first marriage was commemorated, as 100 couples tied the knot over a marathon 14-hour stint, each spending just £100 for their ceremony.

Roger commented: "You may have seen this story this week, for 100 years, it's been the venue where thousands of people have got married, celebrities included, Sir Paul McCartney, and Vicky Pattinson, have all said 'I do' at Old Marylebone Town Hall in central London."

Nina chimed in with: "Now last week, the venue held 100 wedding ceremonies to mark the occasion and News was there to witness them all."

Journalist Charlotte Gallagher then took the segment through a tour of the town hall, capturing the romantic tales of couples opting to marry in such an iconic venue.

Despite the segment being filled with heartwarming moments, some viewers were not impressed by the repeat content, making the sentiments known on X, formerly .

One commented: "No new news then", another expressed frustration: "What a f****** load of old s***".

Another viewer called for a reprieve: "Spare us this guff on weddings, it's already been done to death."

A fourth viewer was left exasperated, questioning: "Is there no news."

One disgruntled audience member lamented the segment's length: "Christ this is a long segment", while another set expressed nostalgia for the defunct show Click.

Comments such as "I've never missed Click so much in my life...can't believe I'm saying that" and "Not the weddings again Jesus wept...where's Click? " showed viewers' longing for its return.

BBC Breakfast is available to watch every day from 6am on BBC One and BBC iPlayer.
