BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty was forced to apologise after repeatedly interrupting an interview on Friday morning. The presenter and her co-host were in conversation with Dr Tamzin Furtado, an animal welfare researcher from Liverpool University, discussing the impact of fireworks on animals.
Dr Furtado explained: "With fireworks, there's a lot more stimuli going on and animals are much more sensitive to that. Not just the sound, the vibrations and the lights. They would affect animals in ways we wouldn't know. or cats or horses might experience them much more strongly than us."
She also shared her personal loss of a horse due to a firework-related injury. Throughout the interview, Naga battled with a cough, apologising multiple times as Charlie took over.
"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry," she expressed amidst her coughing fits. As the segment concluded, Charlie thanked Dr Furtado for her insights, adding: "Dr Tamzin Furtado, thank you so much for talking to us. Naga is going to get some water and we're going to go to the sport now."
Naga seized the moment to apologise once again, expressing regret to viewers and Dr Furtado, reports .
