enthusiasts were united in their response as Wynne Evans and Katya Jones became the most recent pair to bid farewell to the 2024 series.
For the second consecutive week, the duo landed in the dreaded dance-off, having just narrowly escaped elimination the previous weekend. They found themselves up against Shayne Ward and Nancy Xu in the bottom two this time around.
The show on Saturday night (November 16) was a special one, broadcast live from the iconic Tower Ballroom in Blackpool, as part of Strictly's traditional excursion to the coastal town.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the evening kicked off with the professional dancers grooving to the Pet Shop Boys belting out a medley of their classics like It's A Sin, Suburbia, and What Have I Done To Deserve This.

Then it was time for the eight remaining couples to strut their stuff on the renowned sprung floor. Wynne and Katya's performance featured the opera singer concluding their Charleston by energetically swinging his partner by her feet.
Judge Anton Du Beke commended Evans' spirited rendition of Georges Bizet's Carmen Suite No 1: 5. Les Toreadors but noted he seemed "exhausted towards the end of the dance", reports .
Judge dubbed their routine a "Katya special", praising the ambitious lifts and moves, and declared it "highly entertaining". The judges awarded them a score of 31 out of a possible 40 points.
During Sunday night's nail-biting episode on November 17, Wynne and Katya faced the dreaded dance-off once again, finding themselves in the perilous spotlight for a consecutive week.
They battled it out against Montell Douglas and Johannes Radebe in the series' eighth results show, marking the second time the duo had to fight for their place in the competition.
Both pairs took to the stage once more, with Montell and Johannes delivering their Salsa to Thelma Houston's 'Don't Leave Me This Way' first, followed by Wynne and Katya's Charleston. After the repeat performances, the judges unanimously decided to save Montell and Johannes, resulting in Wynne and Katya's departure from the show.
The decision was met with approval from viewers, who felt it was 'the right decision' after the controversy surrounding Wynne and Katya's previous save over Shayne and Nancy.
On X user expressed sympathy for Wynne but agreed with the outcome: "I really like Wynne and I think he hate he's had has been really unfair, but this week I think it was the right decision. Especially against Montell."
Meanwhile, another simply stated: "Right result." Another viewer shared mixed feelings: "Right result but I've loved watching Wynne over the past few weeks. Absolutely not the best dancer but he put so much into it and the joy on his face every week put a smile on mine."
While someone else also chimed in, praising Wynne's efforts: "Well done Wynne on making it this far but it was the right decision."
