BBC Strictly Come Dancing favourite 'set for dance-off' as history repeats itself

A Strictly Come Dancing favourite could be set for the dance-off.

Sarah Hadland and Vito Coppola are through to the next week on Strictly, after impressing with their Couple's Choice in Blackpool. Appearing on It Takes Two tonight, the pair were quizzed about how they felt the week had been.

However, the show's host Fleur East had a bombshell to drop on the pair when she discussed their upcoming performance. Sarah and Vito will do a Rumba next week to Chains by Tina Arena.

Asking how she felt about the performance so far, Fleur said to her: "Sarah, the thing is - you like a dance with bounce, so how are you finding the restriction for the Rumba?" Sarah then admitted she was finding it difficult.

She explained: "You can't do that, there's not a place for that. It's very slow, which I'm not great at." Vito added: "We just have to channel all this energy you want to put in the running or jumping and channel it. Slow is going to be the keyword this week."

It was then that Fleur dropped a bombshell on the pair about their performance.

"I'm starting to see some parallels here," she told them, "Because Vito, you and I did our Couple's Choice in Blackpool. The following week, we did a Rumba - and then we ended up in the bottom two. So how much are you hoping history doesn't repeat itself?"

Both Sarah and Vito burst into laughter at the comment, as Sarah quipped: "Let's start the week positively. Let's be positive," as Vito added: "If we do get into the bottom two, it will be part of the story and it will mean we get to dance the Rumba twice."

However, Sarah forced herself to look on the positive side, telling Fleur: "But you made it all the way to the final. So if I follow you trajectory, there's hope," as Vito agreed, leaving the three of them laughing.

During Saturday's performance, Sarah got emotional as she explained how much Strictly meant to her.

She said: "Other people aren’t telling me what I can and can’t do. I am. I would say to any woman out there if you think you can’t do something you can always push yourself.  You set your own limits because I’ve discovered something. These are happy tears. I didn’t expect to get this from a dancing competition. It came at just the right time in my life when I didn’t know this is what I needed."

*Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weekdays at 6.30pm on BBC Two and BBC iPlayer.
