Big Brother’s first evictee Ryan Bradshaw says his VT was an “unfair” portrayal of him - and his friends and family had a “horrible” time while he was in the house.
The marketing executive, 28, from Blackpool said he is “gutted” to be out of the house, but admits he understands he was “doomed” due to his comment about “”.
Clarifying his stance, he tells the : “I don’t care what people identify as - it wasn’t a dig at people for he/she/they or anything like that.
“It was a tongue-in-cheek comment because you see articles about people who identify as wolves, mad ones - in my opinion.”
His introduction clip saw him talk about people using pronouns before immediately making the “spoons” swipe, but Ryan says he said the two sentences around 20 minutes apart during his interview.
“It was cut perfectly!” he laughs. “I get what they were trying to do, but at the end of the day I did say it. It’s a 40 minute video and you get pushed and probed into different things. I’m not blaming anyone, production, or anything like that. But in hindsight, if I could have taken it out, I’d have taken it out. It is what it is, and I’ve just got to take it on the chin.”
Ryan’s comment was so unpopular he was even booed as hosts and welcomed him into the house. “Going in, you’re in a daze so you don’t clock the boos... you don’t see the VT,” he says. “But when Will said: ‘Tonight, you identify as a housemate,' I thought: ‘Aah, that ain’t good.’
“But it didn’t change how I was when I was in there, you do forget about the cameras. And I just wanted to soak up the whole experience.” Inside the house, he says he had a similar conversation with his housemates.
“I actually spoke to and about it, and I don’t want to throw them under the bus, but they were sort of on the same page as what I was trying to say. But I don’t want to drop them into it too much.”

He adds: “I like to use the phrase ‘strong opinions, loosely held’. I don’t lose sleep over it, I judge people on how they treat me.”
His friends, family and his girlfriend feared for him, due to the criticism he was receiving online during his six day stint on the reality series. “My friends and family had a horrible time,” continues Ryan. “They were worried about how I was going to feel when I come out. Because obviously you don’t know what’s going on in the outside .
“But it’s been sound, to be fair. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and because I was judged on that VT, it felt alright. If they were judging me on what I did in the house, or saying I’m a bad person, I know it’s not true - it was a loose comment.
“My friends and family were really worried but they’re alright now. I don’t think they liked that I’d been portrayed in that way. The only one that got me was the fact they said ‘he’s boring!’ That is the last thing I am. But if that’s the worst comment that’s upset me, I’ll all day long.”
After stealing a sausage during a task, he adds he had intended to cause more chaos. “I was trying to stir it up but from a friendly and mischievous way - not starting arguments. As long as you’re not being nasty or rude... if I found it funny, I thought other people would. I’m gutted I don’t get to do .”
