Boxing fans have questioned the use of 14oz gloves in 's showdown against on Friday night - claiming it will limit Iron Mike's power and give his rival an advantage.
Tyson and Paul will go head to head in Texas in a set to be aired on and there have been concerns over the former's health after agreeing to take on a man 30 years his junior.
However, Tyson has looked in great shape after appearing chiselled at the weigh-in as he fanned the flames of his rivalry with Paul by - triggering a brawl between the two camps.
Paul is being seen as the favourite against the former champion - whose health has been a concern after he withdrew from their initial bout this summer due to dizziness and nausea while on board a flight - and now fans feel the younger man has been given the advantage.
Some fans noticed that the pair will be using 14oz gloves - with most professional fighters usually wearing 8oz or 10oz gloves depending on weight - and said it will mean Tyson tires more towards the end of the fight. Boxers traditionally spar with 14oz and 16oz gloves.
One wrote on social media: "Something that’s being overlooked in the upcoming Tyson and Paul fight is the 14oz gloves they’ll be using. I’m no boxer but larger gloves will limit Tyson’s power and give Paul a larger surface area to block with.
"They’ll also give an edge to Paul from an endurance standpoint—heavier gloves means you’ll tire more quickly with each punch. Not a fan of the rules in this one. It’s set up for Paul to outlast a 58-year-old man when the fight goes the distance."
Another fan commented: "14oz gloves a big advantage for Paul. Tyson has a punch to knock him out, but not with 14oz gloves."
A fourth claimed that Tyson would have had a chance of getting the knockout if he were wearing lighter gloves, adding: "The Tyson Vs Paul fight is an interesting one as there should be no way a 58yo can have a chance but his training videos are insane! The two minute rounds mean short explosions which will suit him. I thought he had a chance of KO win until I saw the 14 ounce gloves."
The fight promises to be a fierce one after Tyson's slap on Paul - which the YouTuber claimed made their bout "personal". He said: "I didn’t even feel it. He’s angry. He’s an angry little elf. , I thought that was a cute slap.”
The 27-year-old then launched into a series of expletive-laden remarks, promising to end Iron Mike in the upcoming fight. “It’s personal now,” Paul added, before bellowing into the microphone: "He must die."
