A bride and groom have sparked huge controversy after encouraging their wedding guests to make a life-altering decision on their behalf.
When a couple gets married, tradition dictates that a bride will take her new husband's surname, or double barrell both monikers. In recent years more modern lovebirds have veered away from this idea, instead choosing to keep their own name or coming up with a new way to honour both altogether. But this couple were so indecisive on their surname that they decided to leave the decision in the hands of their wedding guests.
Neither of them wants to give up their surnames - and if hyphenated, it would turn into quite a mouthful. Bride-to-be Danielle Bonadona is marrying her partner Jacob Bartlebaugh, and the couple have decided to let their vote on which surname they should both take.

Danielle said Jacob had suggested hyphenating their names, but she is worried being called Danielle Bonadona-Bartlebaugh is too tricky to say. : "People are going apes*** over the idea that we could be named the Bonadona-Bartlebaughs," and revealed: "We decided we're going to let our wedding guests vote if we should hyphenate our name or not."
"Because the thing is, we both really love our last names. Neither of us want to give up our last name, and so yeah, we're just going to have our guests vote on it." Danielle said she has always been referred to by her surname, so would be sad to lose the name Bonadona.
"I've been called '‘Bonadona' my whole life, and so that's the name I go by, and so everyone calls me 'Bona' or 'Bonadona'," she explained in her video and added: "And so it feels almost like changing my first name in a really way, like, I couldn't imagine not having 'Bonadona' officially in my name. But I would be happy to include or add his name, which is Bartlebaugh."
Because of her dilemma, they decided to ask their guests, and Danielle told , that her fiancé is hoping the guests choose the hyphenated option. She said: "Jacob is rooting for the hyphenation for sure since it was his idea to begin with. Personally, I also hope people choose Bonadona-Bartlebaugh at this point because I think the internet will be mad if our family and friends let them down."
People were loving the idea of her hyphenated name and commented on her TikTok video with their thoughts. One fan wrote: "That's honestly so good. Sounds straight out of a book making fun of rich people." While another suggested combining both names and wrote: "But here me out...do a monster mash. Bonabaugh Bartledona Bartlebona Bonabartlebaugh."
