Turns out, we can't even open a packet of Haribo, right? Whether you're addicted to the mini fried eggs, or always demolish the foam hearts - Haribo is one of the biggest sweet brands in the UK an across Europe. They taste amazing, and are handy for those times when all you want is a sugar rush. It requires a certain level of willpower that you might not have when it comes to gummy bears and fruity rings, but is worth remembering.

German TikTok star Anna, Antonje, who has amassed a whopping 7.8 million followers, recently went viral after reacting to a video of somebody opening a Haribo bag differently to the usual method (aka, just ripping them open from the top). The video, which currently has 42.1 million views and 2.9 million likes, sees the content creator rush out to the shop to try the hack for herself.

After securing the goods, Anna heads home and reveals that you can in fact peel the small tag on the back of the packet down the centre of the bag. This creates a mess-free way of opening the sweets without them all falling out.

"Don't tell me you KNEW that ???!!!" she captioned the video. The mind-boggling method is great if you don't finish the bag, as you can simply tape the piece of plastic back in place, or simply lie the bag down in your cupboard.

Thousands of gobsmacked viewers flocked to the comments section, with many praising the little-known hack. "My life was a lie," penned one user. Another agreed, commenting: "So all these manufacturers have been thinking about all these tiny, convenient tricks and NEVER informed us?" A third added: "Right.. I'm off to buy Haribo now," while a fourth raved: "MY WHOLE LIFE OF STRUGGLING OPENING THEM HAS BEEN FIXED."

Others were less thrilled about the trick, with one person moaning: "How did people not know this?" Another wrote: "Honestly...who reseals a bag of Haribo? They're scoffed in one sitting," while a third added: "That's always how I have opened them."

Earlier this years, fans were equally stumped after discovering the correct way to pronounce Haribo, which have been around since the 1920s. The company, founded by Hans Riegel Sr in Kessenich, Bonn, Germany, got its name by taking the first abbreviated syllables from 'Hans', the source of the 'ha'; Riegel, which provides the 'ri'; and Bonn, which gives the 'bo'. It is often pronounced as 'Hair-uh-bo', 'Har-bo', or 'Harry-bow' but according to , the correct pronunciation is actually 'HA-ree-bo'.
