Liverpool is reportedly eyeing a move for Inter Milan's Marcus Thuram The Reds could bolster their squad with new additions

Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Liverpool have been keeping tabs on Thuram, potentially looking to bring him to Anfield in January. The Reds might have an edge over other clubs due to Thuram's childhood best friend, joining Liverpool last summer.

Thuram has netted eight goals and provided five assists for Inter this season, and is believed to have a release clause of $90million (£71million) in his contract. His 29 goal contributions last season played a key role in Inter clinching the Serie A title, finishing 19 points ahead of AC Milan.

Inter recently secured a significant Champions League victory against Arsenal at the San Siro, with Hakan Calhanoglu scoring the winning goal.

Arsenal's Bukayo Saka, who captained during the defeat in Milan, mentioned Thuram as one of the players he admires most at Inter, even suggesting he'd like to see the French striker at the Emirates if given the chance.

"If I was to take a player out of Inter Milan now, I could take a lot of them," Saka shared with the press on November 6. "There are a lot of quality players. I like [Nicolo] Barella, he's a top midfielder and also the two strikers [Marcus] Thuram and [Lautaro] Martinez.

"They're good as well, but at the same time I'm happy with my teammates and I wouldn't swap any of them, for sure."

Thuram, 27, joined Inter from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2023 and scored 15 times in his debut season at the San Siro. But he looks as though he will smash that tally this term with eight goals already.

He was a reported target for former boss Jurgen Klopp but after playing for France against Italy during the international break, reiterated his love for the home of Inter.
