Boxing legend Eric 'Butterbean' Esch made a stunning prediction for vs - which has proven to be nonsense.

Tyson and Paul were due to fight back in July, but Tyson was forced to postpone his return to the right after suffering an ulcer flare-up on a flight from Miami to Los Angeles. 'Iron Mike'

The 58-year-old was then advised to stop training, but has recently returned to training and insists he will be fit to make the walk to the ring on Friday night. The clash between the two stars , in front of up to 80,000 people.

It looks as if both men will finally face off after months of anticipation. One man who has been left proven wrong is 'Butterbean' - who asserted with confidence that Tyson and Paul will never face off - and never intended to. "Him and Tyson are never gonna fight," said the fight legend during a Q&A at Georgia Pop and Horror Con. "That has been a scam from the very beginning just to boost Jake's name - and it has!

"This guy, everybody's talking about him. But he's never gonna fight Tyson. They were never planning on fighting each other, because a promoter would never let him fight anyone else in between a fight. Never - not that big a fight. So, it's been a scam from the beginning."

'Butterbean' - whose professional record sits at 77-10-4 - has offered to fight Paul multiple times over the years. Back in the summer, the American made his own £1.5million offer to face 'The Problem Child' in the squared-circle. “Hey Jake Paul, would you fight me for $2m [£1.5million]? Winner takes all," said Esch on TikTok.

The 58-year-old has long been clear about his desire to square off against Paul, having eyed him up as a potential comeback opponent since 2022. Esch retired in 2013 but has since been itching to return to the ring after undergoing a phenomenal weight loss regime in recent years.

He first called out Paul and Tyson when asked about a possible comeback fight in 2022. “I'm not a typical boxer, I go out there to fight. I want to knock somebody out,” . “Jake Paul or Mike Tyson. Jake Paul runs his mouth too much, he's never fought nobody, I would love to fight him.

“I think people would like to see me and Tyson go at it, which would be a hell of a draw. Me and Tyson are actually friends but I don't mind fighting friends."
