Can you see sneaky chicken in this flock of happy sheep in 8 seconds or less?

Send Push

This is seriously confounding, how fast can you solve it? Brainteasers and like this are a great way to incorporate a habit into your regular routine - and there are so many reasons to send this on to your group chat. Doing puzzles regularly can improve your attention to detail, and critical thinking, and improve your memory, and most importantly, they're super fun.

Hidden among a flock of cheerful sheep is one sneaky chicken, but finding it isn't that easy. If you manage to spot the incredibly well-hidden chick in eight seconds or less then be assured that your attention to detail is second to none, so do not forget to claim bragging rights.

Mental challenges like this one work by confusing your brain with similar imagery. Our brains actually run slightly behind reality, this is because it takes a matter of milliseconds to process the images coming in from our retinas. The shape of the drawing of the chick blends seamlessly into those of the sheep, making it really hard to find unless you're paying a great deal of attention to what is in front of you.

Because of the lag we experience as we go through our lives, our brains rely heavily on assumptions based on what we have seen and experienced before, normally this works out fine, but in optical tricks like this, those assumptions are working against us. Scanning the image you'd be easily forgiven for not being able to spot the chick that quickly, so if you still haven't found it, scroll back up and really focus.

To confuse matters more, the similarly drawn sheep are jumping in various directions all across the image, and repeated imagery of flowers, fences, and butterflies, which only make it harder to decipher exactly where the chick is hidden. If you need a clue, then go back up and focus on the bottom right quadrant of the image. Scroll down to have your answer confirmed, or revealed if you are sick of searching for the chick.

This type of optical puzzle can actually improve your eyesight - as reported in - a study has shown and can help you see smaller print or minute details better with time. So it's well worth regularly giving these kinds of challenges a go, even if you were disappointed with your result this time. Those who found the chick quickly are said to have great eyesight and high intellect.
