Chelsea fans got to see the iconic Cole Palmer ‘cold’ celebration four times on Saturday as the midfielder continues to catch the eye with his performances at Stamford Bridge.
The England man scored all four of Chelsea’s first half goals in the 4-2 win over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon. The result moved the Blues into the top four positions in the Premier League ahead of Sunday’s games and rocketed Palmer up to second in the goalscoring charts behind Erling Haaland.
Every Palmer goal is now accompanied by his ‘cold’ celebration, one that has been established as the player’s. However, it seems that he may have taken the idea from another Premier League player who also celebrates in the same way.
Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers was on the scoresheet on Sunday afternoon as he drew his team level with Ipswich in the first half of the Premier League match at Portman Road. After scoring, he ran away doing the ‘cold’ celebration.
It’s not the first time that the 22-year-old has celebrated in that way. And he has previously claimed that he was the first of the two friends to actually use the celebration.
"Yeah, he definitely copied me,” Rogers said last season. “It's my celebration. Check the timeline. I did it first.

"He's one of my closest friends, not just in football but in life generally. So to see him doing so well, couldn't be more proud of him really.
"I think he's now showing everyone what I and a lot of people knew he could do two or three years ago so it's a pleasure to and now everyone can see it."
Palmer himself has admitted that he copied Rogers’ celebration, but has now claimed it as his own. "My boy Morgs did one for Middlesbrough, so I told him I’d do it too if I scored,” he said, via TalkSPORT last season.”
During the summer’s European Championships, he added: "We've [him and Rogers] had a chat about this. He knows I did it and it took off.
"Everyone knows it's my celebration. He [Rogers] might have done it, but everybody knows is my celebration."
Chelsea fans will be hoping to continue to see the celebration as regularly as possible this season. The Blues are back in action on Thursday as they take on Gent in the Europa Conference League.
