There's no better way to start a lazy weekend morning than with a plate of fried eggs, and it's even more enjoyable when there's no washing up to do afterwards.

A clever chef has shared her top tip for making perfect with ease every time, and the best part is that you won't even need a pan. This simple hack is also a lifesaver for those who often find themselves low on basic cooking ingredients, as it doesn't require a single drop of cooking oil or butter.

The hack, shared on by chef and entrepreneur Rose Reisman, is incredibly easy to try and will save you plenty of time when you're in a hurry. In the caption of her video, Rose wrote: "So you want to fry eggs and either don't want to get the kitchen dirty/ maybe you're travelling and don't have a pan? No problem! Give this hack/ recipe a try!"

All you need is a microwave and two paper plates. Rose began her demonstration by cracking two eggs onto one plate, placing the other on top, and microwaving them on full power (800-1000W) for "about a minute and a half".

If you're cooking a bigger batch, add another 30 seconds to the cooking time to ensure the whites are firm. Displaying the final product to her impressed audience, Rose, who suggested cooking the eggs a bit longer for those preferring a firmer yolk, pronounced that they "look great" and were just as "loose in the way [she] really likes them".

Plenty of food enthusiasts were amazed by this time-saver, with one advocate exclaiming: "It works!! I love it!!" Another voiced their gratitude: "Thank you so much, now I can make quick breakfast before school". A third connoisseur left no room for doubt about their thoughts, noting: "Delicious!" Nonetheless, caution is advised with any kitchen shortcut.

A previous trick involving poaching eggs in the microwave was condemned as risky after causing some documented injuries. In 2021, Gary McDougall tried this method but suffered severe burns to his eyes, cheek and nose when the egg exploded.
