Spoilers for Wednesday night's have revealed what happens after Carla Connor and DS Swain's tender exchange on Monday.
After spoilers revealed romance could be on the horizon for Carla and Lisa, the latest episode of the soap saw them confiding in each other. But as they grew closer, the pair held onto each other with a rather telling look shared between them.
It was the moment many Corrie viewers had been waiting for, after months of speculation that Swarla would rise. But the moment left both Carla and Lisa startled, with Lisa fleeing the flat as Carla tried to process what happened.
They'd just been confiding in each other about their struggles, with Swain sadly confessing that life after her partner Becky's death had been tough. Fellow police officer Becky had been killed on duty, with Swain now raising their daughter Betsy.
With recent drama ongoing, Swain confessed she found it difficult to get out of bed each morning, and that she felt as though "it wouldn't be the worst thing" if something happened to her on duty like it did Becky. Carla was sad for her friend, offering her a shoulder to cry on and telling her she believed she was lonely.
Carla was also struggling though, following a letter confirming her divorce from Peter Barlow was official. Two bottles of wine in, and Carla was joking about joining Kirk Sutherland's singles club.

She was emotional after her day in court and her being threatened by the father of a teenage boy she injured. Throwing the news about Peter into the mix, Carla was grateful to have Lisa with her.
As Lisa went to leave the pair hugged it out, sharing a sweet embrace as Carla advised her pal not to put herself in harms way. Swain promised she wouldn't, telling Carla she was kind to her.
It's then that the pair held onto each other with Carla holding Swain's face. As they stared into each other's eyes its looked as though they might share a kiss, but Swain panicked and fled the flat clearly startled by her tender moment with Carla.
As Carla also seemed taken aback, she told Lisa not to leave - but where will the pair go from here? Spoilers for Wednesday night have teased the fallout and Carla's eagerness to speak with Swain.
Carla is in the café with Betsy when she confirms to the teen that she can have her job back. Carla soon heads off to find Swain, not having spoken since their moment the night before.
When she finds her, she suggests to Lisa that they need to talk. But what will be said, and how will the pair move forward? Fans will have to watch on Wednesday to find out.
