Viewers will be able to start piecing the twist together over the coming episodes, as detective Kit Green begins the investigation into Joel's demise. Lauren Bolton and Dee-Dee Bailey are both quizzed over the death, but it could see them ruled out given neither of them have been officially named by Corrie as a suspect.

The mystery will deepen when flashbacks, starting on Wednesday, will give new clues about the day Joel was killed. We will see what characters were up to, and just how many people he'd wronged as his final moments are revealed.

It's said this week's flashbacks are "climactic", with possibly some scenes fans may not be expecting. Soon DS Swain is on the case too trying to figure out what really happened to Joel, while fans remain convinced she is involved.

There are more twists and turns ahead though as Kit and Lisa work hard to find out who really killed Joel and catch them while they can. With Corrie teasing the storyline is one of their biggest ever whodunnit plots in its decades-long history, it does seem viewers should expect the unexpected.

But who did murder Joel, and who knows what happened to him? All will be revealed very soon on the show.
