was praised by The Mirror's Jasmine Mannan, who described the ROG Ally's display as "absolutely gorgeous, and even when games aren't reaching 120 fps, it's fantastic to have a 120Hz display in a device this size as it makes gameplay silky smooth". She went on to say that, despite the screen not being OLED, it provides an impressive depth of colour. With the screen resolution of the Ally being 1080p, it looks like a significant step up from the Steam Deck display (1280 x 800).

ASUS made claims that its would bring double the performance of the Steam Deck to the table, and despite that not quite ringing true according to Jasmine's review, this handheld console easily came out on top.

In terms of battery life, shoppers say the lasts "70 to 90 minutes with performance mode", while another customer shared "The battery doesn’t last long( 1 hour on highest settings)". However, both of these came from 5-star reviews, so the battery life clearly doesn't disuade from the ROG's performance as a gaming device.

One fan of raved: "The tablet-laptop hybrid is everything that I wanted. Good graphics card with portability and touch screen. Does everything that a gaming laptop should...The battery life when gaming is understandably much shorter and depends on how much graphics is in use. There is a silent mode, which switches the GPU off, can be used for office/browsing. This extends the battery life (with battery saving mode) to about 8 hours if needed."

While another beamed: "I bought this as a replacement for my as I wanted a bigger screen and the tablet form factor. Its a masterpiece and has seriously blown my mind."

And a third wrote: "All steam approved games play perfectly and touch screen is responsive. A perfect gaming mobile pc platform with a decent docking station, makes a perfect pc for desktop gaming." Adding: "the rog ally is perfect for gaming while lying down as well as on move. Would not swap this for anything and compared to a £700 pc tower (without screen etc for £700) this stands up well and beats a £700 pc tower in many ways."
