Everton striker believes the team has turned a corner after putting together a three-match unbeaten run.

A first clean sheet in Saturday’s goalless draw with was another significant moment for a team which finished the previous campaign with the top-flight’s fourth-best defensive record despite finishing 15th.

“I think we’ve definitely turned a corner from the past three games,” Calvert-Lewin told evertontv . “We’ve picked up points in the last three games and that’s the positive. I think on the ball maybe we can be a little bit better; a bit more decisive in the final third and I think that’s the next thing, the next stage.”

Calvert-Lewin has scored twice in seven appearances – last season he got four in eight but a number of injury niggles meant he did not find the net again until April – and he is feeling more comfortable.

“Physically, mentally I feel very good. I’m in great shape and I back myself to keep putting in good performances and keep scoring more goals,” he added.

“I’m happy with where I’m at at the moment. Like any centre-forward I want to be in the back of the net regularly, so that’s on the agenda.

“But I feel like I’ve started well and I’m looking forward to keep building on it.”
