Dr Phil reveals real reason he spoke at Trump rally as he makes wild Kamala Harris claim

Dr. Phil has said that his speech at a rally for was an "act of rebellion," with him claiming that he had previously been denied an interview with .

His comments come as voters take to the polls in for the to choose the country's next leader. Harris, 60, is the nominee for the and Trump, 78, is the nominee for the .

TV personality Phil McGraw, 74 - known as Dr. Phil - gave a speech at Trump's rally at Madison Square Garden in on October 27. At one point during the speech, he told the crowd: "I don't like or agree with everything that [Trump] does or says [...] No human is perfect. We don't strive for perfection. We strive for excellence. But you don't have to love everything about someone in order to love them, and the last thing he needs is some celebrity endorsement."

Dr Phil said that he was there to "stand up" for Trump's supporters, who he feels have been "bullied". He also suggested that celebrities who endorse Harris receive more favourable media coverage than those endorsing Trump.

He has now claimed that it was an "act of rebellion" and said that he will "never tell" who he's voting for in the election. Speaking on on Tuesday, Dr. Phil dismissed the suggestion that he's no longer "apolitical" because of his appearance at the rally earlier this month.

Speaking to , he said: "You said that after all this time I had become ... I quit being apolitical, and that's really not true. I knew that when I spoke at the Trump rally that everybody would go 'oh, there he is. He's gone political'. But that was an act of rebellion on my part because I requested 25 plus times to speak to [Harris] and never got so much as a yes, no, maybe. Just wouldn't agree to an interview."

He continued: "And I said, when I gave the speech at the Trump rally ... I offered to give the identical speech at a Harris rally. Said I will cross out Trump's name, write in Harris' name and give the identical speech at a Harris rally." Dr. Phil said that nothing came of his offer though.

Discussing his speech at the rally, Dr. Phil said that he had told the crowd: "I'm just not here to endorse Donald Trump. I do not like celebrity endorsements [...] I don't like a lot of what he says and does." Reflecting, he said: "I don't back off of what I said [at the rally] one iota, not one word [...] I would still go to a Harris rally and say exactly the same thing."
