Their camaraderie, evident during national team duties, is sparking rumours anew, particularly after Bellingham's surprise celebration for - a gesture further fuelling talk of a Madrid link-up.

Online conjecture suggests Bellingham might be nudging his pal toward a move from Anfield to Bernabeu come summer when Alexander-Arnold's contract winds down. No word yet on whether contract renewal talks have kicked off, but Alexander-Arnold himself has left fans guessing with comments about his captaincy ambitions and uncertain long-term commitments.

"I want to be a Liverpool player this season (as a minimum) is what I will say," he noted last month, stirring the pot.

Flashbacks to the 2022 World Cup swirl as many recall Alexander-Arnold reportedly trying to charm Bellingham into choosing Liverpool over a Borussia Dortmund exit. Now, supporters are biting nails at the thought that it might be Bellingham swaying Alexander-Arnold toward Real Madrid next.

Despite reports from Spain linking Real Madrid with a move for a right-back, there's no substantial evidence of interest in Alexander-Arnold. With Dani Carvajal at 32 and facing injury troubles, speculation is understandably rife.

Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has voiced concerns over potential reactions if Alexander-Arnold were to leave Anfield, especially compared to teammates like Salah and Van Dijk, whose contracts also expire soon.

He recalled past instances with Steve McManaman's move to Madrid: "It happened to McManaman when he went to Madrid, there was no like, 'Oh good luck, you're going to the biggest club in the world.' It was a bit like, 'Who do you think you are going there?' Going there for free.

"Stevie (Gerrard) when he (nearly) went to Chelsea. There was a two-year period of him nearly going and the fans turned (on him). I think he (Alexander-Arnold) would be treated differently."
