An innovation on the platform was the introduction of Grok which has become one of the leading artificial intelligence tools on the market with data access and image analysis.
And embarrassingly for Musk, Grok has actually blamed him for spreading misinformation. When it was asked who personally spreads the most information on X it said: “Based on various analyses, social media sentiment, and reports, Elon Musk has been identified as one of the most significant spreaders of misinformation on X since he acquired the platform.”
The question was posed to Grok by user Gary Koepnick and based its conclusion on posts that Musk had shared on political issues, changes in content moderation, his influence and criticism he has received.
The AI platform continued: “When he comments on or shares misinformation, it tends to gain legitimacy among his followers, which can have real-world consequences, especially during significant events like elections.”
Specifically it stated that there is “substantial evidence and analysis suggesting that Elon Musk has spread misinformation on various topics, including elections.” And added: “This collective evidence from news analyses, research reports, and social media posts indicates that Elon Musk has indeed been a significant spreader of misinformation, impacting potentially billions of people through his platform and personal influence.”
It comes as Musk has been promoting the accuracy of Grok and suggested that people submit their medical scans to the analysis for analysis. He wrote on X: “Try submitting x-ray, PET, MRI or other medical images to Grok for analysis. This is still early stage, but it is already quite accurate and will become extremely good. Let us know where Grok gets it right or needs work.”
