Escape to the Country host shares harsh truth after buyer's 'dealbreaker' over health

Escape to the Country host Denise Nurse didn't hesitate to dish out some real talk on property prices as she guided potential buyers with a dose of reality.

Denise was in picturesque Cornwall for Thursday's episode, helping lovebirds Pauline and Sam find their dream home. The couple, eager to swap Hampshire for Cornwall's charming coast, had their hearts set on a seaside bungalow.

Despite their dream, Denise didn't shy away from giving them a heads-up about the hefty price tag that comes with coastal living. Yet, Pauline, opening up about her health, wasn't put off by the warning.

Denise cautioned: "You have mentioned that you would like to be in walking distance near a beach like this, but here in Cornwall, you know how expensive it can be to get these sorts of properties.

"So what we've seen, five minutes drive away, does that hit the spot?" Pauline, yearning for the ocean's embrace, expressed her preference: "Not really, for me. I like the houses and I understand the houses close to the sea are that much higher", reports .

"But I love the sound of the sea. I have slight and I just don't hear it when I'm by the sea." Sam, however, was more flexible than his wife, willing to consider moving further inland. He acknowledged Pauline's condition and suggested he could make a compromise.

The couple's property hunt unfolded smoothly on the show as they toured three beautiful homes. Despite neither property winning them over initially, Denise later disclosed at the programme's conclusion that the duo did eventually purchase a home in Cornwall, a fortnight post-filming.

In sharing their fresh endeavour, Pauline and Sam revealed they opted for a house over a bungalow. They also let slip that their new abode boasted bedrooms.

While the couple hadn't fully relocated yet, they were gearing up to bid farewell to their Hampshire residence imminently.
