Now, some are even considering using them to cook their . One air fryer enthusiast decided to put this idea to the test ahead of the festive season, managing to prepare an entire meal using their trusty appliance.

The Butlers, a family also known as Butlers Empire, went all out, cooking a bacon-wrapped turkey joint along with all the trimmings - homemade pigs in blankets, stuffing balls, roast potatoes, cauliflower cheese, frozen vegetables, Brussels sprouts and even Yorkshire puddings.

Air fryers operate using convection heat, meaning they don't require oil like traditional fryers. Instead, hot air circulates to cook the food evenly, and you can choose not to use oil at all. This makes it a healthier option, as well as a time-saver - ideal for those who'd rather not spend hours slaving away in the kitchen.

The experiment was a success, with each part of the meal cooked evenly. However, they did learn one lesson: the need to keep cooked food warm in the oven while the rest was being prepared. As they tucked into their dinner, they were impressed, describing the turkey as "moist".

"That is what Christmas is all about, folks," Martin shared as he savoured his meal, demonstrating just how simple it can be to prepare a full dinner with an air fryer.

A curious individual took their query to , seeking the simplest way to clean the appliance, which can be tricky due to its design, and asked: "Hi, I was wondering if anybody knows any cleaning hacks because I have been told that cleaning air fryers can be notoriously difficult."

Riding to the rescue, one savvy food lover offered their two cents, advising: "What type do you have? I have the bucket style. After I cook while it is warm, put warm water and soap in the bucket. Let sit while you eat. By the time you finish eating, use a sponge to clean. Problem solved."

Another Reddit user chimed in with a similar tactic, sharing: "Put a little dish soap in the basket, if you have a removable tray with the grate holes leave it in. Add hot water as far as you can see dirt or oil on the sides. Let it sit this way for 10-20 minutes.

"Take a microfibre cloth or very soft sponge, and gently clear the sides and bottom with the water still in it. Remove the tray, and wipe with a cloth or soft sponge. Rinse completely with cold water and you should be good to go."
