Fanta launches 'questionable' Halloween flavour - and people are divided

Send Push

Spooky season is upon us, and people will be stocking up on Halloween-themed sweets, chocolates, and now even fizzy drinks thanks to Fanta's latest release.

Fanta has launched a Beetlejuice Fanta with a flavour inspired by the iconic 1988 film - but fans are divided as to whether they like the taste of it, or whether it's just a little bit too quirky for them. Beetlejuice has come back for a 2024 sequel, and fans of the franchise are raving about it, saying how fantastic and "needed" it was.

But not everyone has the same feeling about Fanta's new, spooky beverage. Fanta Afterlife Zero Sugar is an apple flavour drink, which Fanta Brand Manager at The Coca-Cola Company, Hanna Lauri, has said is "unmissable". But others who have tried the flavour have varying opinions about it, and they've shared them on Reddit.

"I tried this and thought it was absolutely awful", someone fumed, with another agreeing: "You're 100% right. One of the worst sodas I ever tried. And I bought two because I usually love apple flavour drinks." "It tasted like how an apple-scented candle smells. Waxy, medicine-ee, and just plain bad lol", a Redditor added.

But not everyone felt the same. Others professed their love for the Fanta flavour, writing: "I like it. It reminds me of big red, but with a slight spice flavour".

"Was having a conversation about Fanta the other day with a buddy and I ended up looking up the Fanta brand and read about this new flavour", someone said. "It sounded rly interesting, but questionable. Really wanted to try it".

Somebody wrote: "To me at least it tasted like a Christmas beverage; the flavour is supposed to be spiced apple." A user said it had a "terrible aftertaste", with someone saying the aftertaste was "indescribable".
