Fortnite OG saw the game reach heights never seen before, and now it looks like Epic Games is getting ready to capitalise on it even further.

We couldn’t be nostalgic for a little bit, now could we – where’s the money in that? learned a thing or two from the launch of , but most importantly, it learned that there’s not a single thing in entertainment more valuable than the good old days. Innovation is for losers, anyway – Epic has been giving players what they want all over again with the launch of , dropping rappers and remixed characters into the game at an accelerated rate and offering players throwback gameplay to the 2019 era of the game.

According to reputable leakers

and , an anonymous source has come forward to reveal that Fortnite OG will be returning to the game in a permanent capacity in December.

Supposedly, a new mode is on its way to Fortnite that will cycle through the seasons of Fortnite Chapter 1 monthly, with only OG loot to use, although the mode will be accessible and compatible with both Battle Royale and Zero Build. @ShiinaBR has added

that this new version of OG and Chapter 6 will run together. This news is still yet to be confirmed by Epic, though the leakers expect an announcement of the new mode either during Fortnite Remix: The Finale live event, or at .

It’s a pretty shocking revelation, but it does make sense for Epic – after all, it can’t keep up its rolling nostalgia-bait season, no matter how fun they are, as the diminishing returns of the game’s incremental gameplay updates with each season feel less special and impactful each time. Plus, far less players are going to feel any level of nostalgia for Chapters 3 and 4 in the same way they would the first two. If Epic is going this far in on the nostalgia-bait in Fortnite, then we say let it do it. After all, more Fortnite can’t be a bad thing, unless you’re a season of the game full of innovative content trying to compete with a 'remember when' Then it’s a bad thing.
