Gary Lucy hits back as he's accused of never seeing child he shares with ex Laura Anderson

Send Push

Footballers' Wives actor Gary Lucy has been keeping quiet ever since his ex partner Laura Anderson slammed him for hardly spending time with his 11-month old daughter Bonnie.

But now, the actor, 42, felt compelled to hit out an online troll who launched an unprovoked attack on the star after he posted a loving video of him and his children. Taking to social media, the Hollyoaks star posted a clip of his son playing with Bonnie, who was laying in a bouncer, as they were seen singing rhymes to her.

He captioned the post: "When Theodore got to be the big Brother for the day …. If this doesn’t melt your heart I don’t know what will." The TV star has four children with his ex Natasha Gray, India, born 2005, Elvis, born 2011, Sadie, who arrived in 2015, and Theodore, born 2018.

And it was at this point a troll posted a message in the comment section of the post that read: "Funny you keep posting videos but never see her." Unable to remain tight-lipped, Gary hit back and posted: "Funny for you maybe. Just like you're opinion, you're irrelevant."

And in a show of support, Gary's fans jumped to his defence. One person wrote: "Not a fair comment really is it. We don't know anything about their lives or what goes on. It's no one else's business." Another follower added: "You don't know the circumstances of their relationship and the ins and outs. He's a great dad to his other kids but you don't question that. There's honestly no need for your comment."

This comes after Laura, who first met Gary on Celebs Go Dating in 2022, claimed Gary had not seen his daughter for six months. The reality TV star made the claim back in June after she was asked if Gary had seen his daughter. At the time, Laura told them: "Do you mean has her daddy seen her….No he hasn’t since 2nd January if you would like to direct those questions to him as I have no control over the actions of others x."

Following the end of their on and off again romance, Laura told Closer magazine: "It's early days but I'm trying to focus on her, rather than myself. I think putting your personal feelings aside and speaking to the person as a friend rather than your ex helps." She added: "It's going to be a journey as she's only a baby and this is all new to me, but I try to include Gary as much as I can. She has two parents and I want her to know that I always put her first."

Laura went on to allege that Gary hadn't been financially contributing towards the upbringing of his fifth child, as she previously wrote: "Why do guys get away with whatever they want it’s mental. Imagine I didn’t pay for Bonnie’s food, nappies, clothes etc etc etc etc etc."

She continued: "I just think people should be held accountable for their actions for once in their lives and I wouldn’t be my true self if I sat back any longer and took all the crap, it’s very damaging. Only love x" Despite their bitter public dispute, Laura said earlier this month that she will "always respect" Gary. She told her fans: "No matter what Gary has done and not done I will always respect him as Bonnie's father and I hope one day he is capable of being the father she deserves. Until then I've got this."
