GMB's Laura Tobin has fans speechless over real age as she celebrates milestone on air

Good Morning Britain weather presenter Laura Tobin left viewers speechless on Thursday over her real age.

During the latest instalment, hosts and Ed Balls paused the show to mark Laura's birthday milestone live on air, revealing she was turning 43.

As such, Ed, 57, had made Laura her very own birthday cake as he presented the creation live on air in the studio which had a weather theme, leaving Laura delighted.

The presenter said: "I feel like I don't want to eat it but I obviously will! I actually had to count on my fingers and figure out what year it is and what year I was born to figure out I'm 43 today!" with her co-stars commenting she looked "fantastic".

Laura added: "Thank you and happy birthday to my brother as well!" to which Susanna replied: "Lovely stuff, happy birthday Laura!"

Viewers at home couldn't believe Laura's real age as they took to , now X, to share their thoughts. One person said: "It wouldn't have surprised me if it was Laura's 33rd birthday. She looks younger than me and I'm 40. Happy birthday! #", a different account put: "@Lauratobin1 You look 23 not 43. Happy birthday!", another said: "Wow, can't believe @Lauratobin1 is 43! Happy Birthday to my fave weather person" while a different viewer added: "Happy Birthday Laura, no way you're 43. More like 33!"

It comes as Laura recently opened up on her future on the show, and said that while she 'loves' her job, she would like to branch out and work on other programmes.

The weather presenter, a staple on ITV's since 2014, expressed her passion for her role but is keen to expand her horizons. She shared: "I love it! I mean, I get to tell people the weather every day, and then I have like a little segment every day where I can talk about something else."

Her daily segments vary from climate reports to phenomena like the Northern Lights or extreme global rainfall, which she finds thrilling. "Whether it's like a climate report, whether it's the Northern Lights, whether it's extreme rainfall around the - for me, weather forecasting is my first love - it's my bread and butter, it's what I do."

Laura relishes adding educational snippets to her forecasts, enhancing viewers' mornings with science. "If I can, like, jot in all of these extra bits, you know, sprinkles of science while people are having their breakfast that make it interesting - it's a dream scenario." She is enthusiastic about hosting more shows focused on climate issues, having already collaborated with the Tonight Team on projects like dietary changes to combat climate change.

"I'd love to do more shows talking about climate change. I've done some stuff with the Tonight Team looking at the multi-benefits if you want to change your diet - one thing people can do to reduce the impact of climate change is reducing food waste!"
