Good Morning Britain host sparks axe fears as he takes swipe at ITV show live on air

s Rob Rinder left his ITV colleagues gobsmacked as he took a swipe at one of the channel's major shows live on air.

The 46-year-old criminal barrister and television personality was back on hosting duty alongside on Friday (October 4) morning and the pair woke up the nation with the latest news headlines.

Showbiz editor presented his entertainment segment live from the house ahead of the show's highly-anticipated return on Sunday (October 6) evening live on ITV2.

Richard gave viewers a sneak peek at the interior of the most famous house in Britain and was joined in the kitchen by last year's winner Jordan Sangha, who opened up about his own experience.

As Richard wrapped up his chat with Jordan, Rob told viewers that he "will not be watching" the reality show when it returns to this weekend.

It comes after the news that the launch show of Big Brother has been plunged into chaos with both presenters being hit by illness.

Will also admitted he has been undergoing emergency physio for his neck after feeling "nervous" about his ability to do the show justice ahead of the launch. He said: "It's always good to just before the biggest show of the year, when you’re going to be live for six weeks, with all kinds of mad stuff, to not be able to move."

Speaking to Capital Breakfast hosts , Chris Stark and Will further opened up about his predicament. Jordan asked him to elaborate further on his neck as he probed "So yeah you’ve got a sore neck you were saying?"

Will responded: "I have yeah, I’ve got a stiff neck. It’s a bit better today, yesterday was bad, I’ve got an emergency physio in a couple of hours after this. It’s always good to just before the biggest show of the year, when you’re going to be live for six weeks, with all kinds of mad stuff, to not be able to move. So I’m sorry Chris I can’t really look at you [laughs], you’re on the wrong side!"

Sian then joked: "That’s why we got you a spinny chair, so you can move your whole body," as Will quipped: "I can just present the live show on one of these!" Jordan then pointed out that AJ is also in a predicament saying "AJ’s lost her voice as well..." Will clarified "AJ’s lost her voice as well, yeah sorry, I saw her yesterday, we did a podcast record. That’s why she’s not doing radio today!"

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays on ITV1 and ITVX at 6am and Big Brother returns to ITV2 and ITVX on Sunday, October 6 at 9pm
