Greg James' cheeky swipe at rival Amanda Holden as 'phantom farter' terrorises Heart FM

Broadcaster took a cheeky swipe at his radio rival while the studio struggled to find their 'phantom farter'.

The Radio 1 star, 38, revealed to fans on X, formerly known as , that the Heart FM office received a mass e-mail begging the mysterious person 'passing wind' in the hallways to stop as it has become 'unbearable' for the staff in the studios to handle on a daily basis.

Greg shared a text post from Popbitch that read: "Heart Radio is being terrorised by a phantom farter in the newsroom. Things got so bad that staff in the Leicester Square office received an all-office email addressing the culprit. It reads: 'Hello everyone, very quickly and feel bad to be saying this, but people need to stop passing wind on the floor, it's becoming unbearable and unkind. USE THE TOILET!'"

He captioned his tweet: "Looks like someone needs to start Holden them in," referring to Amanda. Fans were quick to add to the joke in the comment section, with one user joking: "When did you get wind of this?" while another follower posted: "Don't rule out Jamie Squeakston."

Meanwhile, Amanda recently on Thursday's show after she opened up about her cravings. The 53-year-old said that while pregnant with her second daughter Hollie, now 12, she loved eating cold watermelon, but also had the urge to lick cold glasses.

Quizzed on her cravings, the presenter shared: "I craved cold melon, like cold watermelon, the red melon. At the time I was pregnant with Hollie, I was doing the musical Shrek and I used to come into town and I, this is really bad, I used to see people outside with their pints of beer with the sort of condensation on, you know, super chilled.

"And, I literally had to stop myself from getting out of the car and licking their glasses." Her shocked co-stars, Ashley Roberts and Jason King, burst into laughter before Amanda explained herself. She said: "It was just cold, I just wanted cold stuff." Visualising what could've been at the time, Jason chimed in: "Can you imagine though if you're just having a drink, 'I think that was Amanda Holden who just licked my Corona bottle'." Ashley joked: "What a sight!" Jason went on to say he somewhat understood the craving, especially if someone was pregnant during the hot summer months.
