Hotel guest 'unlocks new fear' after making chilling discovery on bathroom door

A man stopping off in a hotel for the night has made a disturbing discovery on the room's bathroom door, with some likening the find to a scene straight out of a "".

Taking to , @Ashiv_ said the additional feature had unlocked a "new fear" after his stay. His video initially pointed out the standard lock near the handle that one would use to secure the room normally.

However, as the video continued, he panned up to show a second, more unnerving lock high on the door – unsettlingly, this particular lock seemed tailored to incarcerate someone in the bathroom from the outside.

"I hate this," he confessed in the eerie footage. "Why can you only lock it from the outside?" He then expressed his trepidation and continued fiddling with the bolt, adding: "What if I go to poo and someone barges in and locks me in? What then!?"

Since going viral, the TikTok post has racked up more than 15,000 views, sparking bewildered and worried reactions from viewers. Many commented that it felt more like a sequence from a horror movie than a real-life accommodation feature, with one describing the additional lock as "sketchy".

One user quipped: "About to live out all the horror games you’ve been playing lately." While another compared the experience to "some horror game irl". Some were so daunted they admitted they’d forgo using the loo altogether. "That is terrifying," one person penned. Another asked: "What is happening there?"

A different user recommended some drastic measures: "See those Philip screws? Take those out and disassemble that thing while you stay there." Others wondered if there was a valid reason for the extra lock, with one suggesting: "I'm assuming since I worked security in a hotel it's for emergencies, EMS or the security suits or managers have a master key that'll unlock that but no one else."
