How long is Jarell Quansah's contract as Liverpool defender signs new long-term deal

Liverpool has secured the , ensuring has a key component for his time in charge at Anfield.

The Reds confirmed new deal on Monday, with just over a year after signing his last contract in May 2023.

He might not be the only player to sign a new deal soon, over extending his stay beyond 2026. Liverpool fans will also hope it’s a sign of things to come for , and , with the trio’s contracts all set to expire next summer.

Speaking to after signing his new deal, Quansah said: “I couldn’t be happier at this minute.

“I think the way the new manager has come in, his coaching style has definitely been a massive part of that and I think it is the best club in the world for me to develop at and become a better player.

“I think the players around me, who I’m looking to work hard off and listen to, I think they’re the best in the position at the minute. So, like I said, there is probably no better place I could be.”

Liverpool has not specified how long Quansah’s new deal is, although we can safely assume that the defender’s future is secured until at least 2028, with the contract he signed last year running until 2027.

That puts Quansah in the same timeframe as , , , and , with the England U21 international’s deal potentially running beyond those players’ deals.

Quansah’s new contract comes as a reward for what was a breakthrough campaign for him at Anfield last season. The Warrington-born star made 33 appearances for side across all competitions, leading to him earning a place in England’s preliminary squad for Euro 2024.

He was the , with the Magpies eyeing him up in a deal that would have seen move in the opposite direction. Liverpool though made their intentions clear as they quickly shut down talks over the deal, with the Reds not willing to entertain the idea of losing Quansah.

His new deal is testament to that, and he will be aiming to gain more game time under Slot after the international break, having made two appearances so far this season.
