Ibrahima Konate shuts down Premier League debate after Liverpool star omitted from list

Liverpool defender has naming the best central defenders in the with Reds fans filling the comments to question his omission.

Amazon Prime Video posted on Instagram with William Saliba, Liverpool's and Manchester City's John Stones and Ruben Dias put forward as the four options. Yet it could be argued that Konate has been at the same level as Van Dijk and Saliba this season — and certainly should be there above the duo on current form.

Since regaining his place in the team from , Konate, who captained France during this international break , has been exceptional for this term. He is expected to play a huge part in some massive upcoming fixtures against the likes of and Manchester City.

When one commenter, presumably a Reds fan, asked "Where is Konate?", another responded with: "Being disrespected as all other Liverpool players (are)." And Konate then chimed in: "In Bundesliga maybe."

Liverpool.com says: Konate should, clearly, be on the list. He actually has a strong argument for being top of it at the moment given how consistent he has been so far this season, putting in some exceptional performances.

Crucially, the Frenchman appears to be capable of playing three times in a week and hasn't got any frustrating injuries so far (though he did ). His fitness has been the one thing holding him back in the past.

While Van Dijk is the center-back with the most pressing contract need, Konate is only tied down until 2026. Liverpool and with the way he is playing at the moment, it won't be a cheap deal to get over the line.
