Coleen Rooney has explained why she dislikes the '' nickname and court case telling the camp: "It wasn't a joke for me."
In October 2019 Coleen sent her now infamous "It's.... " tweet which exposed rival WAG Rebekah of giving stories about the Rooneys to the media. Coleen used detective work to prove Rebekah and her team were responsible, which led to her being dubbed Wagatha Christie and there was then a multi million pound court case which Coleen won.
The camp conversation about the case started when Dean mentioned , not for the first time, and journalist Jane Moore looked at Coleen and added: "That was epic though what you did!” then asked if Coleen was scared of posting the original message, and she replied: No, because I just didn’t think it would have the impact it did, because I was just that sick and tired of it, it was draining.”
, 38, then added: “That was my worst nightmare to go to court. I felt like it was like putting on a show for the whole .” She then confided in the group: "What got me, over the whole thing, was it became a bit of a joke and that’s really disappointing, it wasn’t a joke for me. No one knew the full story."
As Coleen talked about the story everyone wanted to hear about, fans rushed to social media to beg Jane Moore to let Coleen tell her tale in full. "WE WANT TO HEAR IT FROM COLEEN NOT YOU #imaceleb," one begged on , aka X. "I wish Jane would shut up and let Coleen tell her own story #ImACeleb," another added, as a third quipped: "SPEAK YOUR TRUTH QUEEN ROONEY #ImACeleb."
The angry didn't stop there. "Jane is getting on my tits tonight," one fumed. "She won’t let anyone else speak she finishes their sentences and how she spoke about Coleen like she wasn’t there ffs shut up woman!!!!!! Let Colleen tell her story." Another simply asked: "why does jane keep answering for coleen, it’s so annoying? #ImACeleb."
At the weekend Coleen told the in an exclusive interview how she didn't want to be known as Wagatha Christie. She said: "I think I’d rather just be known as Coleen from Liverpool. Not from any other type of place. It’s just me, as I always have been, so hopefully people just think she’s that scouser that she’s always been."
Asked at the time if she was willing to discuss it in the jungle, Coleen had said: "That’s a place that I’ve been, I’ve dealt with it. I did the documentary to draw a line under it and it depends on what conversation it actually is at the time. In my life now, I’m just moving forward and not looking back. That’s something I’ve done my whole life, dealt with things and moved forward at the time and got on.
"There are more important things to think about with the family and kids. So it depends on the conversation at the time and what’s said. But talking to the press and stuff, I did the documentary to explain what happened, my view on it and just get on with my life really."
