Inside Peyton List's life from romance with Cobra Kai co-star to what's next after Netflix drama

Cobra Kai's sixth season has continued, picking up where it left off, with Tory Nichols making a difficult and unexpected decision.

Part two of the final season of the karate drama has been released, with the dojos heading to Barcelona for the Sekai Tekai tournament to battle it out on the mat.

However, following the tragic death of her mum, Tory Nichols (played by Peyton List) came to the decision to leave Miyagi-Do behind in favour of Cobra Kai, meaning she’ll have to fight her boyfriend and friends.

With all eyes on Tory in the sixth series’ second part, here’s all there is to know about actress Peyton List.

Acting and modelling

Born in April 1998, Peyton is the only daughter of three who began a career in acting and modelling at a very young age.

Her first acting role was when she was four years old, appearing in the soap opera As The World Turns in 2002.

She then went on to appear in a number of other high-profile shows and films, such as Sex and the City, Spider-Man 2, Law and Order SVU, and 27 Dresses.

At the same time, she had been pursuing a modelling career, appearing in adverts for Little Monkey Lost and Kraft Macaroni and modelling for brands like Clean and Clear and Limited Too.

Peyton featured on the cover of Girl’s Life magazine, as well as for PROM and Bridal Guide.

In 2011, she became part of the Disney family, starring for four years as Emma Ross in the show Jessie and spending the subsequent years working on other teenage projects.

Some of these included Light As A Feather, Valley Girl, Bunk’d, School Spirits and Girl Haunts Boy.

Co-star romance

Peyton is in a long-term relationship with her fellow Cobra Kai star, Jacob Bertrand, who is behind Eli Moskowitz in the Netflix drama.

While Peyton was starring in Disney’s Jessie, he was in the Disney XD show Kirby Buckets before they met in 2015 while working on the Disney original movie The Swap.

They had remained friends for quite some time until years later when their relationship turned into romance.

In March 2022, the stars confirmed their romance with Bertrand, telling TMZ: "We've been dating for a while. I’ve never dated anyone I've worked with before. This is almost a trial by fire.

"I met her when I was like 15. I was actually tight friends with her brother Spencer, so that was kinda awkward to be like, 'Hey man, I like your sister.' “But yeah, we had fun on set and then hung out off-set."

Talking about their relationship to Page Six two years ago, Peyton shared: "It's been so fun. I feel like we're all best friends and getting to have, like, a person that I really love in the same city – I'm just so grateful for him.

“He's the nicest person. But it is [on set] because I feel like we're with everyone but each other on the show."

After Cobra Kai

According to her IMDb profile, the 26-year-old already has another show in the works, which she first worked on in 2023.

Peyton is going to be returning to the set of Paramount+ show School Spirits as Maddie Nears.

In the drama, Maddie is stuck in the afterlife and starts investigating her mysterious disappearance. The deeper she digs, the more secrets and lies she discovers.

Although an official release date for season two hasn’t been announced yet, the show will return in 2025.
