ITV Emmerdale Christmas storyline 'confirmed' ahead of character's sad exit

Viewers could see some joy this Christmas on , with spoilers teasing a major festive storyline.

Two characters could tie the knot in moving scenes, ahead of for one of them soon. Brenda Walker and Eric Pollard could be set for a Christmas Day wedding if the latest spoilers are anything to go by.

It's teased Eric, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease last year, makes a big decision about his future amid some struggles recently. Eric will be seen out of sorts this week, experiencing symptoms that leave him concerned.

Fans were worried this week when they saw signs that Eric's health was deteriorating, with Eric not having his medication. But there's happy scenes ahead, with a first glimpse of what could be happening at Christmas.

Spoilers reveal that Eric decides he wants to marry Brenda, and surprises her with the plan for a Christmas wedding. Brenda is stunned amid recent drama, as Eric shows her the engagement ring he has bought for her at an auction.

Given her delight, it seems she agrees to the big event. So might we be getting a big Christmas wedding to bring 2024 to a close in the village?

The joy might be short-lived though given the news that Brenda will soon leave the show. The confirmed exclusively last week that Brenda, played by actress Lesley Dunlop, will be leaving after 16 years. It's not yet been confirmed how Eric Pollard's partner will depart the village, with fans fearing she will be killed off.

There's rumours of a death looming following a fan sharing photos from an Emmerdale set tour, where a freshly dug grave was seen. One cast member teased the storyline too, while nothing has been confirmed about whose grave it is.

While one theory was that it could be Eric who dies given the new grave is right beside his late ex-wife Val Pollard's headstone, some viewers now believe it could be Brenda's funeral that has taken place. Sharing their theories, one fan posted: "Brenda," in response to questions about who the grave is for.

Another theory read, after recent drama: "Is the start of this storyline that sees the end of Brenda as Lesley Dunlop who plays her is leaving? Is she going to killed by one of Caleb’s lorries going down the track? #Emmerdale."
