Joey split from his Love Island girlfriend Jessy Potts just seven weeks after they left the villa, where Joey was the only celebrity present. He paid a secret visit to the Big Brother studios in London’s Harlesden on Friday afternoon, where he recorded footage for the new series, which is hosted by and .

A source said: "Joey will absolutely appear in the new series, though he won’t be a contestant. As a reality TV veteran he is the perfect person to present to the housemates - he knows exactly what they will be feeling so he will be a real asset to the series.

"His full involvement is shrouded in secrecy but he made such brilliant telly on Love Island, bosses are thrilled he is taking part."

Joey also recently appeared on Selling Sunset where he viewed a £5million property in the Hollywood Hills. The new house features brightly coloured paint drips all over the house, as well as the usual hot tub in the garden.

Big Brother starts on Sunday at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX.
