Jurgen Klopp is set to make than what he had with - taking around a 50 percent pay cut.

It was announced this past week that , not as a head coach or manager but The German had been criticized by some for taking the role, working for the $22 billion-valued company, which has ties to RB Leipzig - a rival of his former club Borussia Dortmund.

But if his contract is anything to go by, it appears has not taken the role for the pay package alone, with reports suggesting he will make around $10 million per season - half of what he made as Liverpool's manager.

It has been suggested he will make somewhere between $10-12 million working in his new role, which he is set to begin on Jan. 1, 2025.

This will be much less than what he'd had been earning through the last two-and-a-half years with the Reds, after he signed a deal in 2022 for around $20 million per season. That deal had been set to run through 2026, but, of course, the German head coach walked away from the contract - citing himself as 'running out of energy' with day-to-day management and looking for a break, while doubting if he'd ever return to the sideline.

Reports have varied when it comes to Klopp having a clause on his new contract to leave Red Bull if a management opportunity arises - with the former Liverpool manager continuously linked with a national team role. Rumors of a clause exist meaning he could walk away if the German national team role becomes available - a role currently occupied by Julien Nagelsmann, who is signed through to the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

However, it has also been suggested that no such clause exists and he will remain with the company through his five-year deal. During his time as Liverpool boss, only Diego Simeone and Pep Guardiola had been paid higher as head coaches in European soccer.

for taking a role in the Red Bull, with the club being rivals to Borussia Dortmund and given its controversial business model. But Klopp has spoken glowingly about the opportunity, stating that he 'could not be more excited'.
