Kate Garraway lands a two-year contract amid £700k tax bill struggle after Derek Draper's death

showed signs of relief and excitement as she filmed the moment she was handed a two-year contract with Smooth Radio.

The 57 year old star, who is a presenter on , has now secured herself an impressive income for the next 24 months with Smooth Radio, amid a £700,000 tax bill. The mother of two had been burdened with the staggering tax bill after she closed down her late husband, Derek Draper's company.

This now means Kate will continue to present her morning show until at least 2026. In a video clip posted on Instagram, can be seen being approached by a member of her team, with a contract in their hand. Fans can then see Kate ask: "How long for?"

After finding out that the contract was for two years, Kate then quipped: "You fools, you fools!". "That's really, really good, where do I sign? Sign it quickly before they take it back.
