Kate Middleton's stunning tiara collection worth millions - and she doesn't own them

The stunning tiara collection - which is worth millions of pounds - has been revealed, with the royal's wedding special costing around £1million.

Kate, now 42, has worn some dazzling items over her time with the , including some which dates back decades, but it will surprise some to know she doesn't own her tiaras. In fact, the mother-of-three's bejewelled appearances are facilitated by a loan from the sovereign.

Lauren Kiehna of The Court Jeweller explained: "They were offered to her as loans, first by Queen Elizabeth II, and more recently by Kings Charles III and ." One which sticks in the memory of many is the piece she wore on her special day.

The morning of Kate's wedding started with her travelling in a Rolls-Royce alongside her father Michael Middleton wearing the Cartier Halo tiara on loan from Queen Elizabeth. The tiara was made up of 739 brilliant-cut diamonds and 149 baguette diamonds. It dates back to 1936 when King George VI commissioned Cartier to create a tiara to remember from the diamonds and platinum he had purchased for his wife three weeks before his coronation, .

The first wore a Lotus Flower tiara at the annual Diplomatic reception back in 2013, but made good use of it again a few years later when she donned it at State banquet in 2015. Again, she recycled the glamourous headwear in 2022 during a Diplomatic reception at . The stunning tiara was made from a necklace that was initially given to the late Queen Mother by her husband, King George VI, in 1923 as a wedding gift.

Another of Kate's worn tiaras is the Lover's Knot, which is made of diamond pearls and was made for Queen Mary back in 1913. It was gifted to Princess Diana by the late Queen when she married Prince Charles in 1981. It was worn most recently in 2023 at the Diplomatic Reception where Kate added a historic quality to her pink Jenny Packham gown.

The tiara is a copy of the Cambridge Lover's Knot which was made as a wedding gift for Princess Augusta of Hesse Cassel, Duchess of Cambridge in the 19th century. However, arguably the most prestigious of Kate's tiaras is the Strathmore Rose which is an exquisite sight. The King's daughter-in-law debuted the tiara at the South Korea state banquet in 2023 and also put her own spin on it by adding a fairytale quality to her ivory Jenny Packham gown which had caped shoulders.

In 1923, the late Queen Mother was given the twinkling tiara as a wedding gift from her father, the Earl of Strathmore and Kinghorne. It was left to the late Queen upon her mother's death and hasn't been worn in public for decades - until Kate's dazzling appearance that is.
