Leandro Trossard makes Bukayo Saka Arsenal feelings clear with hilarious moment before PSG clash

Leandro Trossard and Bukayo Saka's excelling partnership on the pitch appears to have translated to a friendship away from Emirates Stadium. Following his arrival in January 2023, Trossard made quite the impact, with 11 goal contributions arriving in his first 20 Premier League games for the club.

The bulk of those arrived as assists, but the goals soon followed, with an interesting stat emerging as a result. When Trossard netted his seventh goal for the Gunners upon heading home Saka's cross in the 3-1 win against Burnley back in November of 2023, it became clear that all of his strikes had been assisted by Saka.

Unsurprisingly, that run ended fairly quickly, but it showcased the duo were very much on the same wavelength. Though both have been among the goals in the 2024/25 campaign, they are yet to directly combine; however, that appeared to change on Saturday in the 4-2 Leicester win.

With the clash level heading into the final minutes, Saka swung in a deep corner to Trossard, who then saw his side-footed effort ricochet into the back of the net. The goal was later deemed to have taken a telling touch off Wilfried Ndidi, which saw it go down as an own goal.

Despite that, the relationship between Saka and Trossard was clear for all to see after they celebrated the decisive goal. With Saka looking away, Trossard saw his request for their signature celebration, a slow-motion high-five, denied, which resulted in him audibly shouting, "Saksss," before he turned back and accepted Trossard's open hand while both laughed.

For Arsenal to get anything out of their upcoming Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain, the duo will have to be at their very best. The Gunners drew their opening European clash away to Atalanta and thus will be looking to secure their first win, especially with the fixture being at Emirates Stadium.

Following that game, Arsenal play host to Shakhtar Donetsk before heading to Italy and Portugal for challenging encounters with Inter and Sporting CP, respectively. A difficult Premier League fixture schedule is also on the horizon, with games against Liverpool, Newcastle and Chelsea to come in the next few months.
