Liverpool legend Graeme Souness slammed over hot Arsene Wenger and Arsenal take

Arsenal fans have clapped back at icon , suggesting he's green with envy over Arsene Wenger's success after the Liverpool legend remarked that the Frenchman was "very lucky" in his career.

Wenger is hailed as one of football's managerial greats, boasting three Premier League crowns and seven FA Cups from his 22 years at the helm of . His 2004 "Invincibles" squad, which clinched the Premier League title undefeated, stands alone in the annals of English top-tier history. Yet, Souness isn't entirely convinced, judging by his words on the Three Up Front podcast.

When quizzed about whether Wenger was a true "football man", Souness responded: "No, not particularly. I've been on the bench listening to what he's telling his players to do. I've been working for Sky in games where he's made very strange decisions. My take on him was he got very, very lucky at a time when French football produced its greatest-ever group of players."

He also cast doubts on Wenger's tactical acumen and his openness to discussing the game, adding: "He would never come into my office after a game, the only manager that never did. I'd go to his office after a game, he would never be there to talk football. I don't know if he's a football man or not. I never spoke football with him. Now, supporters have responded to Souness's remarks. One fan wrote: ".

Supporters have hit back at Graeme Souness's recent comments with a mix of disbelief and anger. One fan didn't hold back, saying: "This reeks of jealousy IMO. What a nonsense take" Another supporter paid tribute to Arsene Wenger's dedication, remarking: "Wenger sacrificed his life for football, and suffered for it."

They continued with a pointed jab at Souness: "Only to be spoken about like this by miserable and ignorant people like Souness. I hate how shows exists because of extreme opinions and hate". A third chimed in, questioning Souness's criteria for respect: "He's not a football man because he refused to talk to Graeme Souness after a game what a strange person".

This isn't the first time Souness has taken aim at Wenger, having previously said on talkSPORT: "I think he had a fantastic 10 years, but he did inherit the best back-five arguably in world football. He had a knowledge of French football when France produced the best group of players in the history of French football and he had an insight before anyone else did."

Souness then critiqued Wenger's latter decade at Arsenal compared to his earlier success: "For 10 years they were the real deal, then for another decade I don't think he came anywhere near that. I think [the greatest legacy] goes to Fergie, he built three or four teams, his legacy is the largest."
