Liverpool transfer news as $45m 'next Philippe Coutinho wanted' and Sevilla defender lined up

Send Push

Liverpool will be able to further add to Arne Slot's squad in three months' time having only signed Federico Chiesa for the Dutchman during his first window at the helm.

Finding an alternative to Martin Zubimendi (essentially an upgrade on Wataru Endo) appears to be a logical place to start but there are no obvious options to turn to. Elsewhere, for now at least, Liverpool looks fairly well stocked.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today. Both players we are going to discuss are currently playing in Spain, with one of them a regular among the rumor mill.

  • Arne Slot was right with Liverpool warning and sorry Man Utd just proved it
  • 'I only left Everton this summer but I love Arne Slot and would consider signing for Liverpool'
  • Juanlu Sanchez (Sevilla)

In the hopefully avoidable event that Trent Alexander-Arnold moves on next summer, with the Liverpool vice-captain's contract set to expire at the end of the current campaign, the Reds have supposedly lined up a move for Sevilla full-back Juanlu Sanchez, according to Caught Offside. The 21-year-old is only under contract until 2026 and he could therefore be available for a cut-price fee.

Sanchez could be sold for around $28m (£21m/€25m) next summer, the report states. Arsenal and West Ham United are also said to be monitoring the player. Losing Alexander-Arnold for nothing, though, should not be something that Liverpool is thinking about.

Liverpool.com says: Hopefully the Reds won't need to find a replacement for Alexander-Arnold. Getting someone in to do anything like the job that he does for Liverpool would be impossible.

    Alberto Moleiro (Las Palmas)

Liverpool has been linked with a move for Las Palmas attacking midfielder Alberto Moleiro plenty of times in the past, as have the likes of Barcelona. So far, though, he remains with the La Liga side that signed Ollie McBurnie this summer.

According to the Spanish outlet Fichajes, the Reds are considering a move for playmaker Moleiro next summer. He is expected to cost around $45m (£33m/€40m) and has been likened to Philippe Coutinho. The 20-year-old has begun this season by scoring three goals in seven appearances.

Liverpool.com says: Moleiro looks like a really talented player but it would be a big jump to go straight to Liverpool. He might need another move first where he can continue to develop.
