Luis Diaz caught up in 'spying' controversy as Liverpool star prepares for World Cup qualifier

Liverpool winger has been so good at the start of the era that it has been almost impossible to miss him. Nonetheless, Bolivia seemingly wanted to get a closer look behind the scenes before trying to stop him later this week.

According to , Colombia manager on one of its training sessions. Despite players like Diaz and Aston Villa forward Jhon Duran being fairly well known, Colombia's next opponent supposedly sent someone to check up on the training session.

Diaz's South American side is said to be "furious" about the situation. And, of course, Lorenzo was asked about it during his pre-match press conference.

"Of course, one wants to train with the discretion that one deserves, and what happened was a breach of the privacy of the team.

    "We have photographed the person of everything. We will see how we proceed in these hours. The circumstances you mentioned are isolated. We are very happy in Cochabamba.

    "They have received us very well. We are grateful to the people for the welcome and affection but there are people who want to win at any cost or who do things that are inappropriate."

    Diaz has scored five times in the so far this season. Last year, it took him until February to reach that marker, but it seems that Slot's style suits him perfectly.

    "I am always trying to improve, so seeing myself up there [in the goalscoring charts] right now, that is what I work for," he told recently. "That is what we play football for.

    "I hope I can be one of the Premier League's top scorers. Now, it's about continuing this good start, keeping my feet on the ground, staying calm and enjoying it."

    Liverpool.com says: This is some classic international break drama. It should make for a tasty game when Diaz will be looking to continue his good early-season form. The Colombian winger has been brilliant for the last few weeks and hopefully he can maintain that for as long as possible.
