Glazer, who remains United's executive co-chairman, is set to be joined by co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, who'll also be at the Villa game, head of sport , United CEO Omar Berrada, sporting director and technical director Jason Wilcox. Chief financial officer Roger Bell and chief operating officer Collette Roche are also likely to be in attendance.

It's currently unclear whether the performance of the men's first-team will be on the agenda at the meeting, with Ten Hag now in his third season after spending roughly £600million on new signings. Ratcliffe was reluctant to give his verdict on Ten Hag's predicament when he spoke to on Friday, claiming that it's Berrada and Ashworth who'll make any decision on the manager's future.

"They weren't there in January, February, March or April - Omar, Dan Ashworth - they only arrived in July. They've only been there - you can count it in weeks almost - they've not been there a long time, so they need to take stock and make some sensible decisions."

But Ratcliffe is under no illusions as to the amount of work needed to return United to their former glories - regardless of who's manager. "Our objective is very clear - we want to take Manchester United back to where it should be," he added. "It's not there yet, obviously - that's very clear. There's work to be done."
