Manchester United star sent a message new boss that he is ready to fight for his place under the Portuguese coach after uploading a photo of himself training during the international break.

Rashford has jetted off to the United States after being left out of 's England squad, with the winger being spotted at a New York Knicks basketball game against their rivals the Brooklyn Nets.

The 27-year-old has started all but one of United's games this season but hasn't shown his best form - only netting one goal and providing one assist so far - playing just 57 minutes of the team's 3-0 win over last weekend.

And the boyhood United star appears keen to ensure he stays in the team under Amorim after posting a picture of himself training on his own at an unknown facility.

Rashford was seen sitting on a treadmill in the middle of a fitness room, with apparatus and other equipment seen around him. Reports have suggested the player was attending Nike's official headquarters.

He has had a contract with the sportswear giant since the age of 11 and recently extended terms with the company in 2021 after reports he could move over to rivals Puma.

Rashford will return to United next week when the rest of his team-mates return from international duty, hoping to slot into Amorim's set up - with the 39-year-old coach set to deploy his usual 3-4-3 formation.

The England international will have to battle with Alejandro Garnacho, Amad Diallo for a place on the flanks - but might even have to play in an unfamiliar role as Amorim is known to play traditional wingers in the wing-back slot.

It was reported earlier this season that Rashford was having extra one-to-one sessions with then-assistant manager Ruud van Nistelrooy - who later became interim boss after the sacking of Erik ten Hag - to improve his finishing.

Rashford suffered a difficult campaign last season as he only scored eight times in 43 games, which saw him miss out on Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2024.

Rashford will be hoping to be part of Amorim's first game in charge, which is a trip to Ipswich Town on November 24.
