Boxing fans have backed Mike Tyson to KO Jake Paul tonight in their controversial fight.
Tyson and Paul will put eight months of build-up behind them . And tensions rose even higher last night when Tyson slapped his opponent during their face off -
Paul is the favourite to win the fight but Tyson's odds have been shortening as fans buy into the idea of the rebirth of Iron Mike in front of 75,000 fans tonight. And our readers have voted in their thousands with regard the result of the fight - and there is a landslide winner.
Seventy-two per cent of voters believe Tyson will roll back the years and knock out Paul in the early hours of tomorrow morning UK time while eight per cent are backing the 58-year-old to get the job done on points.
Only nine per cent of fans believe Paul will stop Tyson despite the 31-year age gap, while a further six per cent think the YouTuber will have his hands raised after 16 minutes thanks to the judges. Finally, five per cent of fans think the fight will end in a controversial draw which would surely prompt calls for a rematch.
Paul will likely have something to say about those opinions and said last night he was ready to "kill" Tyson after the former undisputed heavyweight champion slapped him in the face.
In the moments after the slap, Paul said: "I didn’t even feel it. He’s angry. He’s an angry little elf. , I thought that was a cute slap.” The 27-year-old then launched into a series of expletive-laden remarks, promising to end Iron Mike in the upcoming fight. It’s personal now," Paul added, before bellowing into the microphone: "He must die."
Tyson and Paul will meet under a modified rule-set with the fight taking place over eight two-minute rounds. The combatants will also wear 14oz gloves rather than the 10oz mitts typically worn by heavyweights.
But the fight will be scored by three ringside judges if the fight goes the distance while the referee in charge will be Mark Calo-oy who played the same role for Paul's win over Nate Diaz last year. Paul dropped the legend en-route to a wide points decision.
