In a recent candid chat with Molly confessed: "It really took me by surprise how much I struggled with becoming a mum. The newborn trenches were… I don't think I'm over them yet. I still hold a lot of trauma from that time of my life."
For the first few weeks of Bambi's life, Molly cared for her daughter alone, with boxer Tommy having jetted off to Saudi Arabia for his fight against shortly after she gave birth. Looking back on time in a March 2023 vlog uploaded to her YouTube channel, Molly revealed that the day Tommy returned home was one of the best days her life.
Molly admitted: "I almost feel like the day he came home from Saudi Arabia from the fight, it sounds crazy, but it was almost better than the day Bambi was born. The day Bambi was born was the best day of my entire life, but on that day I knew that our journey as a family hadn't started yet because Tommy had to go away again.
"Tommy was like gone. I knew we weren't going to be a family until the fight was done and he got back. We had four weeks of that until he was going to be home. The first four weeks of Bambi's life I really did do by myself and I was home alone with her."
In a Q&A session held with her sister Zoe last month, Molly, who had only held one other baby before welcoming Bambi to the , also reflected that, with hindsight, she would have done things slightly differently. She shared: "I basically said no visitors and I wanted to be able to say I had all this time with just me and her to bond. The first night with Bambi in the house, I was by myself. Now I look back, it sends shivers down my spine, I had no idea what I was doing.”
During her recent chat with Vogue, Molly also spoke about co-parenting with Tommy, with the two exes recently settled Bambi into nursery together as a team. Revealing their arrangement was going well, she said: "We’re both being, like, really mature about it."
Molly also spoke of how she was loving the toddler stage, declaring: "I absolutely adore it. If I could have a million more babies that are at this stage, I would do it."
